Origin
Domaine Seguela is in the town of Rasiguères, around 10 miles northwest of Perpignan in the Roussillon region. This large, sun-baked plain in the shadows of the mighty Pyrenees Mountains produces the most southerly of France’s mainline wines.
Taste
A hugely expressive wine with a voluptuous bouquet and flavours of ripe black fruits, warm spices and hints of leather. It is rich and generous in the mouth, with a delicious freshness on the finish that is representative of the domain’s schistous soils. This is a wine to impress, one from a quality-driven producer and a very under-appreciated region.
Enjoy
This wine is drinking well now, and will continue to mature over the next five years. It’s particularly well-suited to charcuterie and delicatessen foods – as well as most cheeses – and would make a great choice for a serious gastronomic picnic.
